Today when Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak visits Sabah, we have our Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon also part of the group with the PM. Tsu Koon ‘s presence here in Sabah today with the PM is going to be a very special for Gerakan.Today is going to be the Gerakan’s biggest break in East Malaysia. Gerakan is going to emerge the biggest winner in the current controversy over the party-less Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah.

Raymond Tan the Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah is joining Parti Gerakan and he would deliver the Deputy Chief Minister’s post to Gerakan.

Gerakan has never contested in Sabah but with Raymond Tan the Deputy Chief Minister and Infrastructure Development Minister and Tanjung Papat Assemblyman joining it, Gerakan has found a foothold in Sabah politics.

Raymond Tan will be appointed as Sabah State Gerakan Vice Chairman with this move.

Raymond Tan is also expected to bring in Elopora Assemblyman Au Kam Wah to join Gerakan and the Prime Minister is expected to make this announcement later today.

Remember, Gerakan links to Party Bersatu Sabah (PBS) goes back to early 80’s during Tun Dr Lim Choong Eu’s days when PBS and Gerakan were suppose to form a “CONFEDERATION.” Somehow the idea of “CONFEDERATION” fizzled out over the years. Now Gerakan has come full circle with the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah and this will be Gerakan’s biggest break in East Malaysian politics.

Penangites,  what do you all think of this move by Gerakan and our Koh Tsu Koon? I’m in Kota Kinabau now and will update if I hear more on this.
