  1. Joe Fernandez says:

    Happy Deepavali, the Festival of Lights, where good triumphs over evil.

    The moral high ground on politics, religion and resources:

    (1) religion must be kept out of politics, the legislature, executive, judiciary, government, schools and education in line with Articles 3(1), 3(4), 4, 11 and 12 of the Federal Constitution read together;

    (2) politics must be kept out of religion, judiciary, government and education in line with Articles 3(1), 3(4), 4, 11 and 12 of the Federal Constitution read together;

    (3) the re-structuring of political power in line with the Malaysia Agreement and the concept of a Federation; and

    (4) the re-structuring of the allocation of resources in line with the Malaysia Agreement and the concept of a Federation.

    We should use the raw power of politicisation of issues with an eye on gathering support at the ballot box on the above and/or bringing pressure to bear pressure on the Government through Judicial Reviews/appropriate administrative laws (government policies in action) on the above.

    There’s a need to come back to basics: removing religion from politics, and ending politicisation of religion.

    We must uphold democracy, secularism, human rights, the Constitution, Rule of Law and commonality of citizenship.
