Yesterday morning at 10 am, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman’s nominees, Andrew Lim and Freddy Lim got whisked away by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) and were both brought to the MACC office in Putrajaya for interrogation.

Its close to 24 hours now and my sources in Putrajaya say that the pair are still in the custody of MACC. The pair are suspected of money laundering and are interrogated separately.

It seems that this two chaps are also linked to Michael Chia Thien Foh, another nominee of Datuk Musa Aman who was arrested at the Hong Kong International Airport for alleged money trafficking and laundering with a stash of Singapore currency worth RM16 million just before he boarded a flight bound for Kuala Lumpur. Micheal checked-in his baggage in the Hong Kong International Airport and then got caught by the Hong Kong Customs Officials with the RM16 million stashed in his baggage. When he got caught Micheal told the Honkies that the stash of RM16 million was meant for the Sabah Chief Minister.

In fact, there was a report on this lodged by PKR Youth Chief Shamsul Iskandar to the Hong Kong based Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). See here. In the report Shamsul provided ICAC with evidence that Michael Chia is in fact a nominee for Musa Aman, the Chief Minister of Sabah. He also named four (4) other persons believed to have connection with corrupt practices and shady transactions involving funds belonging to the State Government of Sabah and its subsidiaries, including Innoprise Corporation Sdn. Bhd., Rakyat Berjaya Sdn. Bhd. and Yayasan Sabah Group. Shamsul also said in his report that public funds were ‘illegally obtained’ and were siphoned out from Malaysia and deposited into various accounts in Hong Kong at UBS AG, Bank of East Asia Limited, HSBC, Credit Suisse and Citibank.

The exposes threaten not only Musa’s, but Najib’s, credibility also. The central core of the exposes is Musa’s corruption of the state. It is a matter of time before Musa Aman is sent packing by Najib. Musa is becoming a liability to Najib. Besides, the infighting in UMNO Sabah is coming to the open now. Musa Aman struggles to hold it together amidst the many questionable business deals linked to his relatives and cronies as the numerous factions within plot to overthrow him. It’s all to do with money.

Musa was linked closely to the former prime minister, Pak Lah and his son-in-law. So it is not a surprise to learn that the Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak, would take this opportunity and would rather the chief minister be a man of his choice Shafie Apdal. And the going after Musa’s nominees and cronies by the MACC is sign that Najib is making his moves.

I noticed kenwang and polemic are always present in various sites and threads similar like this. And similarly, their stand will always be the same : lapdogs of Musa.
Always belittling anyone opposed to their stands, albeit indirectly but sometimes straight to the point.

Just something to ponder, do you think its impossible for a fraud to happen undetected?
Fraudsters will do anything they can to hide evidences but sometimes they slip and leave tracks that makes others speculate and suspicious.
But with the CM, he can try to hide his loot under a veil, but since its too big, people start to notice the bulge.

EIA for Sabah coal-fired plant: Probe into wrong info on power plant site

    Roy Goh New Straits Times 30 Jul 10;

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has ordered an investigation into allegations that an assessment prepared for the RM1.4 billion proposed coal-fired plant in Sinakut was inaccurate.

He said he had directed state Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun to look into allegations that the Detailed Environmental Impact Assessment (DEIA) on the site was inaccurate.

“The government looks at this allegation seriously. I have asked Datuk Masidi to investigate the matter,” he said after launching the Oil and Palm Industry Exhibition and Seminar organised by the Industrial Development Ministry and Palm Oil Industrial Cluster Sdn Bhd.

He said it was vital that the assessment of the site was accurate.

World Wide Fund for Nature’s Malaysia policy analyst Lanash Tanda claimed that the report had made a mistake in classifying the indigenous Orang Sungai and Tidong communities as Indonesians.

He had also challenged the report’s assertion that the seabed near the site was largely devoid of sea life.

He had also stated that the report had failed to include details of sampling methods and choice of locations studied.

Wildlife conservationist Dr Marc Acrenaz had pointed out that there were at least two species identified in the report that were not found in Borneo.

They are the dusky langur monkey (Semnopithecus obscurus) and the White Rumped Shama (Copsychus malabaricus).

The report was prepared by consultants hired by Lahad Datu Energy, a TNB-owned company that had proposed to develop the plant.

Sinakut was identified as the site of the project aimed at stabilising power supply in the east coast of Sabah after residents in Darvel Bay, Lahat Datu, and Sandakan protested against proposals to locate the plant there.

No room for error in environs report, says Musa
    The Star 30 Jul 10;

KOTA KINABALU: All preparatory work for a proposed 300MW coal-fired plant on Sabah’s east coast must be above board, Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman said.

He said studies like the detailed environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the project must be accurate.

“Such studies should not leave any room for questioning. It must contain correct information,” he said after launching a palm oil industry exhibition here yesterday.

Musa was responding to reports quoting WWF Malaysia and the Sabah Environmental Protection Association (SEPA) officials as saying that the detailed EIA for the coal-fired plant was fraught with errors.

The environmental groups said the errors became apparent at a panel review of the document on Monday.

Among the mistakes was the inclusion of non-existent animals species in Borneo such as the Dusky Langur, a type of monkey that was said to have been spotted at the project site in Kampung Sinakut, some 300km from the state capital.

In addition, the communities living in the area including the Orang Sungei and Tidung were wrongly described as of Indonesian origin.

WWF Malaysia policy analyst Lanesh Thanda said the consultants that drew up the detailed EIA also erred as they had compared the coastline at the project site which comprised mud flats to coral reefs in places like Pulau Tioman, Klang and the Straits ofMalacca.

The panel review was held at the Department of Environment (DOE) office here and among those present were state government representatives headed by Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry permanent secretary Datuk Susanna Liaw.

Lanesh who was also at the meeting, said a new study should be commissioned

Saya ingin komentar berkenaan projek Pembinaan lojijanakuasa arang batu.

Apakah pendirian Kerajaan negeri Sabah @ pendirian Musa Aman.

The opposition supporters in Malaysia and Sabah in particular are fond of changing facts when it comes to issues that suit them. When I mentioned about the universal norms in the legal system that ‘a person is innocent until proven guilty’ they questioned my approach and believe. To them since this relates to Sabah CM then the rule of law is no longer necessary or practised.Perhaps just throw it away in the rubbish bins at the back alley of Sinsuran and arrest the CM or throw him away. This is their notion of the legal system they want to adopt when it comes to the CM.In other words they can pre-judge a person and proof or evidence are just nonsensical requirements. This is what the opposition supporters believe and this is want they stand for.The readers therefore should judge them for this.

If you notice how they expressed themselves you will see a person or persons who are ‘violent’ even in thoughts and words. They are people who are full of hatred towards the government and leaders. They are the ‘ mafias ‘ in politics and therefore there is nothing really good about them.

We all should condemn these ‘political mafias’ for they know no rules,no laws,no believes and no nothing at all. They are the robotics of the oppositions and they have no hearts and no souls.I wonder what the exact words to call them…….robotic mafias or mafia robots?

1borneo, how come didn’t have the OC already can soft opening at june 17th 2008? he’s no doubt bringing the city to another level but compare to his corruptions made thats scale is not positively balance. like we should get 100 but instead 30 and the others 70 by him and his comrades. i believed that the corruption are always been involved in government but this already gone too far. don’t mentioned the others CM since already past tenses but this still happening and we should do something. at least fight for what we supposed to have. oil sites been sold to brunei without profit the sabahans, 5% oil for sabahans, and you didn’t see the people at kudat, pitas, some of them still no electricity and water supply. but he still making money… using that money people can have a better life and that’s what he should do to make more supporters.

I read many blogs on this but our CM is still in office and running the State as usual. We in Sabah still want Datuk Musa Aman to be our CM as under his administration the State enjoys rapid development and people are living in peace and harmony. This is what we want from our leaders.
