By-Election fever again in Penang. This time in mainland Penang- Permatang Pasir state seat on August 25th.

Permatang Pasir has always been a PAS stronghold and it falls under the Permatang Pauh parliamentary constituency helmed by Penang’s favourite son Anwar Ibrahim.

This is going to be a straight fight between Barisan Nasional candidate Rohaizat Othman and PAS’ Mohd Salleh Man.

Barisan Nasional candidate Rohaizat Othman is an ex-lawyer who had been barred from practising because of alleged misappropriation of client’s money in a firm partnered by him sometime ago. In simple language, the BN candidate Rohaizat Othman has been struck of the rolls of the Malaysian Bar. No jokes, this is for real! Rohaizat civil lawyer’s licence had been revoked by the Malaysian Bar Council.

Wonder why UMNO could not get a better chap than this Rohaizat fellow? Isn’t it pathetic that Umno/BN couldn’t find any other person to be the candidate? What kind of caliber of candidate BN is offering Penangites? Is this a joke or what?

You should hear  Tengku Razaleigh’s take on this. Read Ku Li’s “a different set of rule.

Anyway, i’ll offer this open wager to anyone willing to take it. I’ll bet $1,000 (which is rich for me, believe me) that PAS WILL WIN HANDS DOWN IN PERMATANG PASIR on August 25th.

  1. Mohd Anwar says:

How are you Mr Selva? You still in Sabah? Thanks for your support and trust in PAS. Your reader Idris’s prediction is spot on. Must be the same Idris from Kelawai. He! He! He!

  2. Idris says:

Selva, my reading is PAS will get about 3500 votes majority. A little less than what they got in March 2008.

Hey, hey! What have you got to say?
