Word is going around that Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam will be dropped as Chief Minister of Malacca once Najib takes over as Prime Minister after Pak Lah passes the baton on April 2nd, if it happens.
The Umno Disclipinary Board which found Mohd Ali guilty of violating party ethics for indulging in money politics or corruption, in simple language, had made his political life hang in a balance.
Now the writing is on the wall and Mohd Ali as Chief Minister of Malacca is just like Pak Lah’s remaining days as Prime Minister of Malaysia.
It is a real pity to see Mohd Ali’s political career end in such a manner. The race for the Deputy Presidents posts for vice-president Mohd Ali Rustam has been costly. Not only he destroyed his chance to remain as the Chief Minister of Malacca but this contest for the Deputy Presidents post in Umno also killed the chance for him to become the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. He lost all. Poor chap.
Well, Dr Mahathir’s fingerprints is all over and he has been one of the assassins, without a doubt. Dr Mahathir went for the jugular as Mohd Ali had to be destroyed at all cost.
