Tan Sri Joseph Kurup Says Pairin Kitingan Has No Credibility

Now BN is fighting BN over Pensiangan.

Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) President Tan Sri Joseph Kurup said the statement by his Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) counterpart, Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan has hurt the Pensiangan by-election machinery preparation.

pensiangan sabah parliament seat 080908 “The voters in Pensiangan are well prepared for a possible by-election if there is any. They already know who they are going to vote for and the election machinery is all in place and intact,” he said in a statement from Putrajaya, Tuesday.

“As much as I would like not to say anything, I am compelled to do so in response to Pairin’s interference over this well prepared machinery by raising the question of candidature for Pensiangan.

“It will undoubtedly to a certain extent weaken this. Pairin’s ill-conceived remarks are definitely not conducive to the often mentioned slogan of BN which says “in the spirit of BN,” he said.

Kurup said Pairin seemed not to have understood this so far, but here, “perhaps he could be excused in view of his colorful and well documented history with BN”.

“Certainly he does not possess the credibility to assess the suitability of a candidate for Pensiangan,” he said, adding that Pairin had been the Pensiangan MP for two terms and his performance record in bringing developments to the people there speaks for itself.

Pairin had said that the selection of the Barisan Nasional candidate if a by-election were to be called for the Pensiangan Parliamentary seat should not be automatic.

He also said that he was not saying that Kurup, who won the seat uncontested before it was nullified by the Election Court, should not be re-allowed to contest but based on the Kuala Terengganu Parliamentary by-election result (who is the candidate) is a very important factor.

The dislike and hatred between Kurup and Pairin goes a long way. I could say it was from the days in 1995 when Pairin’s PBS Government collapsed because of the betrayal by Kurup and Gang, with their defection to BN, UMNO suddenly became the largest party in Sabah with the most number of seats in the State Legislative Assembly. Pairin hence had to resign as Chief Minister after almost a decade in power because of Kurup and Gang’s betrayal and undermining.

Kurup is branded as JUDAS in Sabah!

Even way back in January 2005 after 10 years from the collapse of PBS government, Tan Sri Josph Kurup had personally sent me an SMS and in the SMS he said “Pairin 4got he is a convicted criminal.” I think I still have the SMS somewhere in my phone.

So you can see the hatred and it is deep.
