Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Yong Teck Lee , famously known as Sabah’s YTL, who pulled out his Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) from Barisan Nasional on Sept 17, 2008, had a meeting with Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Kota Kinabalu, today.

At a Press conference at the opening of Parti Keadilan Rakyat service centre for Kota Kinabalu constituency in Jalan Damai, Luyang this afternoon, Anwar Ibrahim confirmed  to reporters that he had invited SAPP to join Pakatan Rakyat.

Anwar is expected to elaborate further about his meeting with the SAPP president in a Press conference at 9am tomorrow before returning to Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, Yong is scheduled to give a Press conference at 12.30pm tomorrow after opening the party’s new office at Putatan Square, Putatan.

Hope this time Yong Teck Lee and SAPP is just doing whats right for the people of Sabah, as this joining with PKR, DAP and PAS in the Pakatan Rakyat alliance, is long overdue.

SAPP is a Sabah-based party and should never ever think of joining another West Malaysians dominated political parties, be it Pakatan Rakyat or BN. History has shown us with crystal clarity that the West Malaysian politicians are yet to grasp the reality of political and socio-economic aspirations of the people in the Borneo States. The only thing these Malayan politicians ever realised is that with the participation of Sabah and Sarawak in the Federation of Malaysia, they had now been sitting on gold mines, just like the Malay proverb, “seperti tikus jatuh ke beras”. With the huge natural resources these two Bornean states produce those Malayan politicians and their people only think about amassing these newly found wealths for themselves and for their own people without ever giving a thought for us. They took us too long for granted. Of course, they had given us craps all these 45 years, but look at and compared with what they did for themselves in their own land – they build the longest, the biggest, the tallest, the widest, the finest under the sun, etc (and they are still planning for a double version of those). It is really dreams come true for them. Yet, we, in these lands of ours which produce these wealths, can only watch our big brothers enjoying sumptuous meals at the 5-star restaurants rubbing our noses against the windows panes outside. How long shall we endure this total political control, colonisation and economic discrimination and deprivation? Can we ever learn to stand tall and bravely tell off our big brothers over there that they are really Big BULLIES!?

We should stick together (Sabah & Sarawak-based respective parties), stand on our ground and deal with the West Malaysians-based parties accordingly.

Hey, hey! What have you got to say?
